With the upcoming launch of European Safer Gambling Week 2024 (ESGW24) due to take place on November 18-24, the European Gaming and Betting Association (EGBA) is spearheading a series of initiatives designed to help elevate the issue and raise awareness for responsible play, problem gambling, and harm minimization.
One of the initiatives to take the spotlight is the introduction of "The Art of Blocking: Self-Exclusion Tools" webinar hosted by Casino Guru in collaboration with BetBlocker within the broader framework of ESGW24
The webinar is taking place on Tuesday, November 19 at 11 amGMT and reunites a number of experts from the world of responsible gambling, including moderator Pedro Romero - Chief of SG Partnerships, BetBlocker and panellists:
Katie Reynolds-Jones - Chief Marketing Officer, GamStop
Šimon Vincze - Head of Sustainable & Safer Gambling, Casino Guru
Kate Graham - Vulnerability and Accessibility Manager, Monzo
Duncan Garvie - Founder, BetBlocker
Bringing together some of the world’s top responsible gambling experts and responsible gambling’s most passionate advocates, the webinar will explore questions such as: what advancements have been made to make self-exclusion more accessible in recent years, and how effective is self-exclusion as an option?
The discussion will similarly address the rising threat from black-market gambling websites, which avoid traditional self-exclusion, and how organizations such as BetBlocker, GamStop, Monzo and Casino Guru address this threat.
The webinar will similarly seek to dispel some common fears in consumers who may be worried that their names will be exposed to the public if they register to block themselves from gambling. Additionally, the panel will explore paths for collaboration between self-exclusion providers, banks and mental health apps.
The webinar is free to register for and watch. You can register using the link below and join the conversation around self-exclusion tools on Tuesday, November 19 at 11 am GMT.
